The
Mayor of London is currently consulting on proposals to make London a Low
Emission Zone (LEZ). London’s air
pollution is the worst in the UK and amongst the worst in Europe, and unless
action is taken it is unlikely that the capital will meet its 2010 targets for
reducing particulates and nitrogen dioxide. A LEZ would define emission
standards for certain categories of vehicles.
Questionnaires will be available at the March 2006 EFoE meeting.
You can get further information on the proposed LEZ by calling 08457 22 45 77
