Walking Around Hanwell

Several EFoE members attended the launch of British Waterways' new leaflet, a self-guided four mile walking route featuring the Hanwell Flight of Locks on the Grand Union Canal, and Osterley Park. This is one of a number of initiatives to encourage local people to get out and enjoy the waterspace. There will also be education trips for school children, guided walks with Ealing Countryside Rangers, the upgrading of a two-mile stretch of towpath, and new information panels. (We hope that the upgrading will respect the natural environment and won't turn the path into a magnet for speeding cyclists!)
