Christmas recycling

Christmas trees can be recycled at 18 recycling points around the borough as well as the three recycling centres. See www.ealing.gov.uk for further information.

Once again the Woodland Trust is collecting cards for recycling. You can take your cards to W H Smith, Tesco supermarkets and TK Maxx between 2 – 31 January. All the cards are recycled in the UK. High grade card is used for toilet paper, kitchen roll etc and low grade card for toilet roll inners, packaging and corrugated cardboard. Last Christmas 82.2 million cards, the equivalent of 1,633 tonnes, were recycled through this scheme. Each tonne of recycled paper is equivalent to 17 trees.

The Woodland Trust is a charity dedicated to the preservation of native woodlands. It's one of the partners in the Stop Climate Chaos coalition. For more information on the work of the Trust, and to subscribe to their e-newsletter, go to http://www.woodland-trust.org.uk/
