It's good to start young by walking or cycling to school if possible. That is why Ealing Council like many other councils is establishing School Streets.

Car manufacturers find that they can make bigger profits selling larger, over-powered cars. Heavier cars even if EVs, use more energy, cause far more CO2 emissions in their manufacture, generate more polluting tyre-dust, damage the roads more, and are considerably more dangerous to other road users and to pedestrians (especially children*). They are also more expensive to buy and run. Avoid SUVs unless you are farmer! 'SUVs are setting new sales records each year – and so are their emissions' - International Energy Agency
* 'Being hit by an SUV increases the likelihood of death or serious injury' - London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine
UK holidays can be more expensive because of accommodation costs. Campsites and the YHA are possible lower cost options.
