You can vote in local elections for Ealing Borough Council, in London-wide elections for the Greater London Authority (GLA) London Assembly and London Mayor, and in national elections for your Member or Parliament (MP); before leaving the EU, we could also vote for members of the European Parliament. Make sure you are on the electoral register or you will lose your vote. An Annual Canvass form is sent each year to all Ealing Borough households which someone in your home should have filled in with your details. You also can check and register on this government website.
EU citizens living in the UK are entitled to vote in local elections.
You can write to elected representatives, your MP & Councillors. These websites help you find who represents you and to contact them: Write to Them, They Work For You. Ealing Borough Council website has a list of councillors. MPs and Councillors also run surgeries where you can meet them in person, or you may be able to meet them as part of a meeting or lobby organised by EFoE or another environmental group.
There are numerous on-line petitions that you can sign. Friends of the Earth usually has several petitions. However a personal approach to an elected representative will usually carry more weight.
