We are only a small local group of volunteers and cannot provide a comprehensive information service. There are many larger organisations offering suggestions for what individuals can do. For example Take the Jump from which we got some of the ideas for our page. There are websites that help you calculate your personal 'carbon footprint' - a possible starting point for individual action - such as this one from WWF: How big is your environmental footprint?
If you think there's something else we should have included in our list of suggestions, do let us know.
Individual actions can only take us so far. Combatting climate change and protecting the environment requires government action at all levels. A large part of Friends of the Earth's activities are dedicated to campaigning for that action - to inform the public and persuade the politicians.
If you want to do something but none of our suggestions appeal, there are several other environmental organisations in Ealing Borough. Maybe take a look at:
Ealing Transition - a focus on practical local action.
Ealing Wildlife Group - a community of wildlife enthusiasts.
LAGER Can – the Litter Action Group for Ealing Residents.
ActforEaling - a hub for environmental groups in Ealing.
